#TheSun : Reporters Terrified They Will Be Arrested Next

Last weekend's arrests of five top journalists working for Rupert Murdoch's daily tabloid The Sun have struck fear into the staffs of all three Murdoch newspapers in the U.K., The Sun, The Times of London , and The Sunday Times .

News International, the umbrella group for the newspapers, has acknowledged that evidence gathered by its own management and standards committee about the five led to the arrests.

On Tuesday the News International Staff Association said that it has written to corporate executives asking what steps are being taken to protest the rights of journalists.

In an interview with Britain's Guardian newspaper, NISA spokesman Nick Jones said, "The anger on the editorial floors of all three titles is something I have never seen before. I've not seen this level of anger and sense of betrayal." A Sun journalist who did not want to be named told the Guardian that the mood among his colleagues at the papers in one "of grief, shock and desperate worry" about who else will be roused in the early morning hours by police and arrested.
